Find My iPhone (updated today) version 2.0.3 has just been released on the App Store. The new update includes bug fixes and stability improvements. Strangely though, Apple decided to release the update with the App’s new icon, which is part of the redesign coming this September for iOS.
Inside the app the icon has also been updated on the login screen, but within the help section the icon has not been changed. We are left wondering if this was accidental or actually intended as part of the update. Despite the icon change, the app itself remains the same design with stitching and a leather effect background (all of which will be stripped from iOS7).
We advise non-developers to not upgrade to this version of Find My iPhone, as numerous users have reported a bug that won’t let them log in, without having an Apple Developer Account.
“Developer Account Required,” the error message displayed to users reads. “You must be a registered iOS developer and have iCloud configured on iOS 7.0 Beta to use this version of Find My iPhone.”
Apple recently updated Find My Friends but this did not include a new iOS7 icon. iOS7 is expected to be launched this September alongside the new iPhone 5S and rumoured lower-cost iPhone named iPhoneC.
